Dear Resident, Can you help? We're appealing for witnesses after a collision involving a pedestrian and a bin lorry in Sutton.
The collision took place in Vermuyden Gardens at just before 9am yesterday (22 January) and the victim, a 50-year-old man from Ely, was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the bin lorry, a 62-year-old man from East Cambs, was interviewed at the scene and is helping officers with their enquiries.
An investigation has been launched and police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with any information, including relevant dash cam or doorbell footage, is urged to submit this online here quoting incident 68 of 22 January. Call 101 if you do not have internet access.
